This policy explains how Understand Your Retirement collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the website, Atlas, and related retirement-document tools.

1. Information we collect

You may use the first complimentary guest document analysis without providing an email address, account, phone number, or password before the analysis begins.

When you create or claim a saved account, we may collect account information such as your email address, authentication credentials, profile details, retirement information you provide, uploaded documents, saved scenarios, Atlas conversations, preferences, and other information you choose to store in the platform.

We may also collect technical information necessary to operate and protect the service, such as browser or device identifiers, session information, request metadata, usage events, and security-related logs.

2. Retirement and document information

UYR is designed to process retirement-related information, which may include investment statements, retirement accounts, pensions, Social Security information, annuities, insurance policies, tax documents, estate documents, income information, and other records you choose to upload or enter.

We use this information to provide document analysis, organize your Retirement Vault, build your retirement profile, generate educational forecasts and scenario comparisons, answer Atlas questions, identify missing information, and provide other features you request.

3. Guest uploads

Guest uploads are designed to be temporary. Guest documents and related analysis that are not claimed into a saved account are designed to be removed automatically after approximately 24 hours.

UYR may use device, browser, session, rate-limit, duplicate-document, and similar safeguards to enforce complimentary-use limits and protect the platform from abuse.

4. Saved accounts and authentication

Saved Free and Full Access accounts require authenticated access. Your saved documents and account information are associated with your user account and are protected by application, database, and storage access controls intended to prevent one user from accessing another user's private information.

5. How we use information

We may use information to:

provide and maintain the UYR platform and Atlas features;
analyze, classify, organize, and connect uploaded documents;
build and update your retirement profile and household model;
generate educational insights, forecasts, scenarios, and summaries;
save account preferences, conversations, and user-requested information;
process subscriptions and manage account entitlements;
detect abuse, fraud, security threats, or unauthorized access;
troubleshoot errors and improve reliability and user experience;
comply with applicable legal obligations.

6. Service providers

UYR relies on third-party technology providers to operate the service. These may include providers for hosting, database and authentication, secure file storage, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, infrastructure, and artificial-intelligence processing.

These providers may process information on our behalf only as needed to provide their services to UYR, subject to their applicable contractual, security, and privacy obligations.

7. Payments

Subscription payments are processed through a third-party payment processor. UYR does not need to store your full payment-card number in order to provide Full Access. The payment processor may collect and process payment and billing information under its own privacy terms.

8. Data security

UYR uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect private information, including authenticated account access, private storage, user-bound database access controls, backend-only secrets, short-lived file access where applicable, and automated guest-data cleanup.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for using a secure device and network when accessing sensitive information.

9. Data retention and deletion

Saved account information may be retained while your account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide the service, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or maintain security and audit records.

UYR includes privacy and account-deletion controls for saved accounts. Deletion requests may be subject to limited retention where required by law, security, fraud prevention, financial-recordkeeping, or other legitimate operational obligations.

10. Your choices

You may choose not to create an account after a guest analysis. If you create a saved account, you may update certain profile information, manage supported privacy settings, and use available account-deletion controls.

11. Educational nature of the service

UYR and Atlas provide educational information and technology-assisted analysis. The platform is not a substitute for individualized legal, tax, investment, insurance, healthcare, or other professional advice. Information generated by the platform may be incomplete and should be verified before important decisions are made.

12. Children's privacy

UYR is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly design the service to collect personal information directly from children.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform, legal requirements, or our practices change. The effective date shown above will be updated when a revised policy is posted.
